Onrec is an abbreviation for Online Recruitment.

Our main business and focus is the supply of talent to clients who demand executives with IT&T and interactive / new media / digital experience.

As the well-documented growth in the online space continues, agencies, consultancies, media specialists, technology providers and marketers face a familiar challenge; the acquisition and retention of quality staff.

Geoff Jennings

Founder and CEO
So far I have had 20 years experience in sales and sales management. I started as a radio Sales Executive with Gold FM, then as Senior Sales Executive for fairfax’s CitySearch.com.au and quickly became the national No1 in sales before moving into sales management. After the sale of CitySearch Directories to Sensis, I moved to Fairfax Digital’s employment website mycareer.com.au as Sales Director focusing on reshaping the business including the relaunch of the website. After building strong relationships between Fairfax print publications and the employment website, in mid 2004 I moved to a act as State Manager for News Limited’s realestate.com.au, before deciding to operate my own company onlinerecruitment.com.au.

Charles Young

Director, Internet / Digital Media
Charles started his sales career over a decade ago as the youngest ever account manager for one of Australia leading automobile finance companies. In 1996 he joined the then startup, Fairfax CitySearch directories as a Senior Sales Executive and was one of the company’s most consistent performers. Charles moved on from CitySearch and had exposure to a number of different IT areas including, Hardware Sales and Internet AdServing before settling with Ocean Internet (now Ocean Software) as a Senior Sales Executive. At Ocean, he was responsible for the sales of a variety of Online Software solutions such as Intranets, E-Commerce and Communications platforms. Charles co-founded his own organization and entered into a joint venture agreement with Ocean to start up Ocean’s Research and Development division. This company experimented with such technologies as Neural Networks and High performance data processing engines.

Charles resides in the country with his wife, miniture schnauzers and tropical fish.

Nanda Pillai

Director,Telecoms Market
Nanda has over 18 years of experience in the Sales and Product Marketing area in the Telecommunication sector. His first senior role was with Wandel and Goltermann, a German Test and Management company where he was employed as the National Sales Manager in Australia. He then took on Regional Business Development roles eventually becoming the Regional Director for Asia Pacific for Acterna (now JDSU), a US Test and Management Systems company. He has had extensive dealing with the major Service Providers and System Manufacturers in the region. Along the way Nanda has developed a extensive network of contacts and references throughout Asia Pacific.

His wealth of experience in employing and managing large multicultural highly specialised technical teams makes Nanda an ideal international recruiter. He also speaks a number of languages.

Nanda qualified with a degree in Mathematics and Engineering from Trinity College Dublin, Ireland. He is also married with four young children and has a wide variety of interests amongst them Golf.

Nanda’s philosophy in life is that “A Goal is a dream with a Plan and Deadline”

Stephen Cottier

NSW Senior Consultant
Stephen was heavily involved in business magazine publishing for 20 years through his company National Business Magazines, then for the last 2 years in computer software.

In 1983 he launched what was to become Australia’s leading business management magazine: National Business Bulletin [NBB]. Many other industry specific magazines were to follow including : Australian Hotelier, Metal building News’, Leisure Life, Pub Food Guide, Corporate Image Survey Results and Small Business Survey results, to name a few.

As publisher of NBB Stephen had the opportunity [and privlege] to closely observe the management and operation of many of Australia’s leading businesses including ’shooting stars’ like Resmed and Cochlear that have gone on to becomeglobal corporations capitalized in the billions of dollars.

Two years ago Stephen moved into the computer software industry through DecisionMAX Software, who have developed solutions for the Procurement Professional at Corporate and Government level. In his sales/ marketing role Stephen again had the opportunity to work with many varied companies atsenior management level, examining how they operated their procurement and what could be done to improve there operation.

Based in Sydney’s Northern Beaches area, Stephen is passionate about his golf, his life and his partner Meredith [although not necessarily in that order].

Chris Henderson

Chris has worked in IT for over 15 years, starting out in Hardware and Software. He has been a marketing consultant for IMB and Microsoft. For the past 8 years he has spent his time focussing on Online Marketing and Promotions & Database Management for some of Australia’s Premier Networking Companies. Chris’s strongest skills are Contact Management - eBusiness automation solutions and Internet Marketing, he writes a weekly tech Blog and Weekly Tech News eMag focusing on web 2.0 - Internet Marketing and e-business.

Mandy Brown

Vic, Senior Consultant
With over 20 years of sales and business experience across the real estate, automotive and IT industries, Mandy brings a wealth of sales & marketing history, in a range of complex business services, and software solutions, to the Online Recruitment team.

Having run her own IT consultancy for over five years, Mandy is technically proficient and also has an intimate understanding of business processes at an executive level with a broad range of clients. “I enjoy every aspect of recruiting and helping people to achieve their career aspirations and look forward to expanding my career in this direction.”

Mandy is Microsoft, novel Linux, vmware & juniper certified and her personal motto is “consider it done”.

Marlene Liontis

Vic Senior Consultant
Marlene has a strong background in Sales of Commander and PABX systems and Data Solutions in the Telecommunications Industry, Recruitment and Human Resources & most recently as a Training Consultant in Occupational l Health & Safety Issues.

She has also worked as a Call Centre operator and Supervisor for Telstra and Primus Telecom which included coordinating Staff Training and Motivation coaching.

She has also won several Nationally Recognised Sales Awards with Telstra for her exceptionally high Sales Results.

Most recently she has been promoting Workplace Training Programs in Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom.

Marlene lives in Melbourne with her husband, two children and 6 pets which include 2 dogs, 1 cat and a fish.

Naomi Stekelenburg BA, HON

Psychologist & Accounts
Naomi has an honors degree in psychology from Swinburne University and has spent the last decade working both clinically and in research exploring several aspects of human behaviour. Her main areas of interest are clinical disorders such as Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and cognition, or the way people think and solve problems. She has worked in various institutions, including the Mental Health Research Institute, the Austin Hospital and St. Vincent’s Hospital. She left research to gain experience in the business world by taking on a role as sales executive with a leading pharmaceutical company before joining the team at Online Recruitment.

Outside of work, she enjoys swimming, reading and taking her three young children on adventures.

Her motto: “Never consent to crawl when you feel the impulse to fly”.
